Hawthorn Timber support 100km trek across the Sahara Desert for CoppaFeel ! in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

In November this year, Rebecca Leckonby has trekked 100km across the Sahara Desert as part of the CoppaFeel! team. Over 5 days, together with some inspiring individuals Rebecca trekked and camped in the desert, all in support of a cause that is close to her heart: ensuring that everyone is empowered to check their chests regularly.

“CoppaFeel! is on a vital mission to eliminate late diagnoses of breast cancer by encouraging young people to get familiar with their bodies. By making regular checks a part of their routine, we can help them gain the confidence to consult their GP if something feels off.

In the UK, 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Around 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK.

Your generous donations have helped Rebecca, smash her original fundraising target of £5,500 and will contribute directly to this life-saving initiative.

Currently Rebecca’s Saharan journey has raised in excess an amazing £6000.

Here’s some of the incredible things her sponsorship will go towards :

£50 could provide one month of CPD Accredited Breast Awareness Webinars for healthcare professionals.

£100 could equip fifteen doctors surgeries with all the materials they need to share our message.

£340 could get a Boobette started on their journey with educating and empowering the nation to check their chest.

£500 could kit out & train 5 Uni Boob Teams who will reach thousands of students with our message.
