Group Operations Director, Summit Timber Group

Mike joined Summit Timber as our Group Operations Director in April 2025. He joined after a long and successful career in the UK timber industry. Previously working with BSW Timber as UK Operations Director and prior to this as Managing Director at Metsä Wood UK. Before that, he had over a decade’s experience within Finnforest holding various operational roles including European Operations Director managing multiple locations across Europe.

In BSW Timber, as UK Operations Director, he reported to the CEO at BSW (Tony Hackney at the time) and was responsible for overseeing operations across multiple sites, ensuring the production, timber processing, sawmills and goods movements were running efficiently.

Mike has deep operational experience in timber manufacturing and has a strong track record in leading change. He was a key partner in the growth and integration of new businesses in the BSW group.
